Biography
Tyler Tanner is a partner and trial lawyer with Hamilton, Miller & Birthisel, LLP. He is Board Certified in admiralty and maritime law by the Florida Bar and has practiced exclusively in this area since earning his Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law. For the past 15 years, Mr. Tanner has dedicated his practice to defending his clients in complex and often high-stakes maritime cases involving catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, product liability matters, cargo claims, marine insurance coverage disputes, medical malpractice claims, and the enforcement of maritime liens.
Mr. Tanner enjoys professional service outside of the law firm environment, so he does that also. For the past five years he has taught the Admiralty Law course at Florida International University College of Law. He also serves in leadership roles for several industry organizations, including the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute and the Fort Lauderdale Mariners Club, and he previously served two years as Chair for the Florida Bar Admiralty Law Committee.
